I am recently home from outside where a raging bonfire lit up the conversation shared by friends. The Leslie family (minus Hilary, Jonothan and Katrina) popped over for a quick snack and bonfire chat. I appreciated catching up with them and sharing in their updated life stories which include a 2 week old grandchild (and nephew), working at a senior’s home, finishing the first year of university, among many other things. They are a wonderful family who take genuine interest in our lives and their love is not surface only.
Before this I had a great conversation with both my parents over the phone. I had to remain perched on our counter-top holding a steady position as we lack good cell service in the apartment, but that did not take away from the joy of talking with them. Dad was being given the heebie jeebies over an above-average sized spider while Mum was keeping her fair distance I am sure prompting him to grab the Raid can. Both are abundantly supportive and I felt a bit empty not having chatted with them for a few days. Thanks for the talk guys 🙂
Just before coming downstairs from saying hi to the Clark’s tonight I picked up a DVD sitting on the side. It is titled “Julie & Julia”…I am sure you have heard of it. The movie is an adaptation from a novel written about the cook Julia Childs inspiring a young girl to follow her dream. I am always immediately attracted to these stories as the thought of a person falling in love with their passion and pursuing a creative art always inspires me. I am excited to entertain myself with this film and look forward to watching the progression of learning to do what you love and working in their field of creative passion. Ah, love it!
Your honest, wholesome desires are hand planted by the Lord and there is just such joy and pleasure found when you are capable of entertaing them. Just as Eric Liddell said about his missionary work and running, ” I believe God made me for a purpose, but he also made me fast. And when I run I feel His pleasure”.
Do you feel his pleasure?
Oh boy, the movie just began, I think I may just love it. Hahaha her french is ghastly!
I’ll leave you with this to make you smile!
