Ben and I had our 8 year anniversary date today. As Ben says “When you have been together as long as we have there are a lot of dates to remember”. We decided to celebrate the beginning of it all, especially as we were at pitch this weekend which got us in the romantic mood! So as we were laying in bed planning the day Ben had a unique idea to visit colosanti’s and have some doughnuts. I could not have been happier and we made our way to a quiet corner with our bag of sugary goodness and 2 coffees. The table we found was in a tiny corner hidden by a tree decorated in tiny white fairy lights. As the clouds were thick with oncoming severe weather the cafe was dimly lit and as romantic as you can get at your local golf/greenhouse/petting zoo/cafeteria hall. 🙂 We reminisced and discussed what we would like to happen next (we can’t necessarily control that so the Lord will let us know if we are right). We were slightly disrupted by the rain drops casually falling from the greenhouse ceiling but it only gave me an excuse to move to Ben’s side of the table to finish my cup of java.
Driving home the rain started, and it hasn’t stopped. The forecast says flooding over the next 24 hours. We already have a bit of trickle in our bedroom but that was expected and hardly noticed. It only adds to the beauty of our home. Bella is the most distressed as she cannot get into the bedroom to check on her little nest under our bed. Unlike other cats she does not mind getting wet and therefore has no problem traipsing through the little puddle and tracking it on her furry paws through the house, onto the bed and into the clean laundry basket.
Making sweet potatoes for the first time today and I am so excited to eat them…just wish they did not take so long. But I guess there is always studying to be done. And yes, even as the thought of studying crosses my mind Bella has made her way onto my lap to make sure she has all my attention and not my laptop or textbooks.
