The rain just has not stopped for days. It is an abnormally cold May and the weather is messing up my baseball career…well the women’s church league! We have had an exciting season so far with a win 17-10 and the second game tonight was called on account of rain. So, instead of hitting grounders and catching pop flies I spent the evening indoors going through a rubber maid container of grade school/high school keepsakes…wow. With rain pattering on the windows, wine glass in hand, lights dimmed and box before me I indulged. Photos, notes, awards, diaries, they all put a smile on my face and occasionally made the other people in the house peer into the room to see what had me in hysterics (usually it was Chrissy Kelton’s home-made birthday cards that got me going :)). I am going to try and scan a few photos from the past once I get our printer up and running and learn how the new-fangled thing works.
What a blessing tonight was, had some exciting news, spent time with my parents and peered into the old days in a cozy living room protected from the wind and rain.
And now I have stayed up so late I’m hungry again.
Snack then bed.
